Born and raised in Kansas City, I developed a love for tennis, travel and photography early in life. The daughter of a math teacher, summer vacations were spent in the family wagon, traveling the lower 48 and Europe, snapping pictures of countless scenic overlooks and (inter)national treasures. And when not on the road, it was a sure bet you’d find me at the city courts playing in the challenge ladder, taking a lesson or hitting against the backboard.

It was through these activities that I learned the invaluable lessons of patience and acceptance, the value of opening your mind to the new and different, and how to think strategically and account for changing variables. And it was through these activities, that I was exposed to what I’ve since adopted as a guiding principle …
You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.
This mantra inspired me to challenge and be challenged:
… to travel 1000 miles to attend Washington & Lee University (Go Generals!)
… to move to our nation’s Capitol in pursuit of strategic change
… then on to Paris – the City of Light, before returning home – to the Paris of the Prairie
… and it is what ultimately inspired me to launch my own strategy consulting company
(that and a lot of encouragement!)
4 things to know about me
- I am curious. A constant Google-er, I thrive on learning and value the clever & inventive.
- I am creative. I love considering “what could be” and delight in identifying patterns or making connections in information others might consider a complex mess.
- I am determined. Tenacious when it comes to my goals, I choose to see opportunity when I come upon a roadblock.
- I am future-focused. Although I keep the destination in my sights, I believe it is best to remain open and flexible as you plot your path to get there.
