After weeks of anticipation, the 2016 KC Startup Crawl is now over.

The kick-off event to 1 Week KC, the crawl made nine shuttle stops serving 12 host locations and introduced crawlers to 100 area startups. For me it was my first time sponsoring an event; and I was not sure what to expect. But the event it provided me an excellent opportunity to not only to practice my pitch, but to make new connections and take in the excitement of each entrepreneur I met.

And I am thankful for the friends that helped me out during the event, JJ Wolf for her creative help, Mary Ann Steinlicht for helping staff my table at KCSV, and Amy Gattermeir, Kimberly Wilson, and Rachel Berbiglia for representing me at the other crawl locations.

1 Week KC

This week, I leave my sponsor and presenter hat at home and will attend 1 Week KC events as an eager participant. 1 Week KC is a celebration connecting entrepreneurs throughout Kansas City highlighting key events each day of the week. There are 10 events in total, but I’ve narrowed my agenda to five:

• Tuesday: Sprint Accelerator Techstars Demo Day at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
• Wednesday: 1 Million Cups & Venture Lounge at the Kauffman Foundation
• Thursday: Start & Scale Business Day at the Kauffman Foundation
• Friday: Startup Waffles at Think Big Partners
